Collaborative Learning Center

Emily Carruthers, M.A., Behavioral Consultant/Owner

Emily began her career working with children with Autism in 2002. After obtaining her Master's Degree in Special Education with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from The Ohio State University in 2006, she began her career as a Behavioral Consultant. Over the past 20 years, she has gained knowledge in the areas of ABA, Whole Team Collaboration (home and school), IEP/ETR/FBA/BIP documentation, Parent Training, and Behavioral Interventions.

Throughout her career, she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a spectrum of needs. Her specialty area is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She has also worked with the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) and Easter Seals to provide workshops on Compliance building and Potty Training for hundreds of families over the years.

Emily has provided services in both the home and traditional school settings and has seen first-hand how inclusion in the public schools doesn't always benefit the student in a positive or therapeutic way. Collaborative Learning Center was born from the idea that all learners, can thrive, regardless of abilities, when their environments are individualized.  There is no "box" that CLC students are expected to fit in.
